Northern Brown Bandicoot

My husband saw this little guy one night when he was sitting on the deck reading. I have been putting seed on this rock for the birds and it would always disappear overnight. While we were away my daughter took a photo of all the holes he had dug in our backyard. Our neighbour thought it wouldn't have been a bandicoot but an echidna. Well, just a couple of nights ago we saw him again, this time he stayed to eat all the seed and didn't care how many photos I took of him. It is getting very dry so feed is getting scarce for all the wildlife. I guess it doesn't help that the council has burnt off much of the area to prevent fires getting out of control.



I think his nose is covered in seed.

My focus isn't very good because I was trying to manually focus in the dark, it was almost 9pm and very dark. We are quite privileged to see this little Australian native Northern Brown Bandicoot as a lot of people wouldn't even know what one looks like. To have him calmly sit there while I took several photos with flash is even more surprising.

The birds were here in the hundreds trying to snavel some barbecued lunch.

The Central Markets were really impressive, absolutely huge with lots of fresh fruit and vegetables as well as baked goodies. At the end of the day the leftovers were sold off really cheaply.

 

There are some lovely old buildings, this one really took my eye.

 

As the title suggests, Adelaide is home to many beautiful churches, this is just one, it's even more impressive at night.

The Three Sisters

 The cable car we took from one side to the other, it was freezing up there. There was even a few snowflakes.
