Orange...
Kleinia semperviva, that is quite a mouthful.
All soft and fuzzy
Another plant from my mum's garden. This is possibly a fuzzy Kalenchoe, I'm not sure though.
Just 'laxin' totally enthralled by "Madagascar"
Blue winged Kookaburra
I saw this fellow land in the tree just outside my yard. He sat there and waited while I got my camera, changed my lens and took a few shots... very obliging. I don't have a very good telephoto lens, that's another thing on my wish list.
Papa Roo
Each day we watch the roos while we eat breakfast. This last week the same dad, mum and baby has been there. This is the dad flexing his muscles for the camera.

Let it all hang out
I took this earlier this month. We were on The Strand in Townsville and it looks like these guys thought it was ok to air their dirty (or clean) washing in public. If you enlarge the shot you can see the licence plate on their car reads OKINOZ, lol.
Can you see me?
This little gecko was trying to blend in with the bromeliad he was hiding in. He was doing a pretty good job too, I nearly didn't see him.
Fireworks
Our local show was on today. I tried to get some decent shots. It was all rather hit and miss. This was one of the better shots.
Bubbles
I love the delight on the face of my little great-niece.
I love her shirt too, it says "gone to the naughty corner, back in 5 minutes"
Wanna play... huh? Do ya?
Lily (the cat) walks past Maddie (great dane) every day. Maddie would love her to come and play but Lily wants no part of it. It's always quite funny to watch.

Free for all 204 / 365
The bees and butterflies were all feasting on the nectar and pollen from this flowering grass tree (xanthorrhoea). I also got some nice shots of the bees covered in pollen.
Fully loaded 205 / 365
I tried to get a sharper shot of the bees today but getting them super sharp while in flight is really hard so this one from yesterday is it. If you look closely you can see that he has pollen all over him.

Sunrise in the Towers 197/365
Another shot from Towers Hill. We've been getting fog most days. There is fog in the distance. I love how HDR retains all the information of all of the shots used.

High density housing 198/365
for aphids!

Refraction 190/365
I found myself down with the weeds again today trying to catch the refractions in the morning dew.

Fairies in my Garden 191/365
There's fairies at the bottom of my garden but they can only be found in the golden hour when they bathe in the warm afternoon sun. This was just a bit of fun for a toy theme.

The Ladybird and the Rose 183/365
I chased this little lady all over this rose. It was so hard to catch her staying still for a second. They are very busy little creatures.

Float like a butterfly 184/365

Mural 185/365
This mural is in front of an empty building in Townsville's main street. There is another one about the same size on the other side of a door.
If you are interested in the artist go to www.smizler.com

My city by the sea 186/365
I went up Towers Hill this morning to catch the sunrise. I love how the early morning fog makes it look like we are by the sea. We're actually 130 km from the sea.

Rose Bud 187/365
I've been playing in Photoshop as you can see. I mess around and then don't know if I like the end result or not. What do you think?

For emergencies 176/365
You never know when you're gonna need one.
This is my first selfie... sorry it had to be this view!

Think Pink 177/365

Not Holden up real well 178/365
My son's '54 FJ Holden that he hopes to one day restore.

Just Chives! 179/365

Venetian Kitty 180/365
This little kitty is maybe an inch long at the most and she's Venetian glass. A little souvenir I bought in Venice.

The Rainbow Connection 181/365
We were driving along The Strand after I was desperately trying to find today's photo. This rainbow appeared in front of us, we pulled over, I rushed down to the beach to get the shot. It was the most intense rainbow I have ever seen.
It reminded me of this song Kermit the Frog used to sing...
Who said that every wish would be heard and answered
when wished on the morning star?
Somebody thought of that
and someone believed it,
and look what it's done so far.
What's so amazing that keeps us stargazing?
And what do we think we might see?
Someday we'll find it, the rainbow connection,
the lovers, the dreamers and me.

Fireworks 182/365
I took this from my balcony. I didn't have my tripod with me so my camera is resting against a pillar. They were celebrating 25 years at Jupiters Casino.
