July 16 - 22, 2011

Sunrise in the Towers 197/365
Another shot from Towers Hill. We've been getting fog most days. There is fog in the distance. I love how HDR retains all the information of all of the shots used.

High density housing 198/365
for aphids!

Status 199/365

Mushy Windmill 200/365
I thought this mushroom looks like a windmill when shot against the sky. This isn't B&W.

Seen better days... 201/365
Another old car belonging to my son. This one is beyond ever being restored. There was quite a bit of playing in Photoshop with this one.

Landing gear down 202/365
This little native bee looks quite comical like an animated character with those big eyes. You may need to enlarge him to see him a bit better.

I bow to thee great ocean 203/365
Just another gull shot :)

July 9 - 15, 2011

Refraction 190/365
I found myself down with the weeds again today trying to catch the refractions in the morning dew.

Fairies in my Garden 191/365
There's fairies at the bottom of my garden but they can only be found in the golden hour when they bathe in the warm afternoon sun. This was just a bit of fun for a toy theme.

Fine and Dandy 192/365

A rose is a rose is a rose 193/365
I love the soft pink in the centre of this rose and the dark ends to the stamens.

Wrong is the new right! 194/365
I love this saying on his shirt.

Just another brick in the wall 195/365
Well... just another fern in the brick wall :)

Two eggplants walked into a bar... 196/365
This eggplant/aubergine was given to me by my niece, her husband is a farmer, this is a reject that they can't sell. There is no photoshopping other than the terrible drawing. I grew the small one.

July 2 - 8 2011

The Ladybird and the Rose 183/365
I chased this little lady all over this rose. It was so hard to catch her staying still for a second. They are very busy little creatures.

Float like a butterfly 184/365

Mural 185/365
This mural is in front of an empty building in Townsville's main street. There is another one about the same size on the other side of a door.

My city by the sea 186/365
I went up Towers Hill this morning to catch the sunrise. I love how the early morning fog makes it look like we are by the sea. We're actually 130 km from the sea.

Rose Bud 187/365
I've been playing in Photoshop as you can see. I mess around and then don't know if I like the end result or not. What do you think?

Dragonfly 188/365

Red Hibiscus 189/365

June 25 - July 1 2011

For emergencies 176/365
You never know when you're gonna need one.
This is my first selfie... sorry it had to be this view!

Think Pink 177/365

Not Holden up real well 178/365
My son's '54 FJ Holden that he hopes to one day restore.

Just Chives! 179/365

Venetian Kitty 180/365
This little kitty is maybe an inch long at the most and she's Venetian glass. A little souvenir I bought in Venice.

The Rainbow Connection 181/365
We were driving along The Strand after I was desperately trying to find today's photo. This rainbow appeared in front of us, we pulled over, I rushed down to the beach to get the shot. It was the most intense rainbow I have ever seen.

It reminded me of this song Kermit the Frog used to sing...

Who said that every wish would be heard and answered
when wished on the morning star?
Somebody thought of that
and someone believed it,
and look what it's done so far.
What's so amazing that keeps us stargazing?
And what do we think we might see?
Someday we'll find it, the rainbow connection,
the lovers, the dreamers and me.

Fireworks 182/365
I took this from my balcony. I didn't have my tripod with me so my camera is resting against a pillar. They were celebrating 25 years at Jupiters Casino.

June 18 - 24 2011

A day at the beach 169/365
Some days are all about family. Just hangin' out, soaking up the winter sun.

In his own little world 170/365
Just playing in the dirt.

Disco Web 171/365
My apologies to those that don't like spiders.

All in a row 172/365

Warm winter's day 173/365
We went for a little walk on Towers Hill today. The weather was beautiful with the warm afternoon sun shining on us.

Sunny Chrysanthemum 174/365

Concert 175/365
My granddaughters had a dance concert tonight. This was their interpretation of 'Thriller'. I loved it!

June 11-17 2011

Chrysanthemum 162/365

Rainbow Lorikeet 163/365
We were walking on The Strand today and this little fellow was right in front of us in a tree. He didn't mind me snapping away at all. I could have touched him I was so close. Their colours are so pretty.

The Ship Endeavour 164/365
This magnificent replica of Captain Cook's ship HM Bark Endeavour is making an historic circumnavigation of Australia in 2011-2012. The finely crafted wooden vessel will visit 18 ports on the 13 month voyage. It is open for public inspection as a floating museum, displaying the living and working conditions on one of history's great voyages of discovery - Cook's circumnavigation of the globe in 1768-1771.
Between ports Endeavour will be sailed by a core professional crew and 40 adventurous voyage crew who pay for their places on board and 'learn the ropes'. Anyone wishing to participate as a volunteer while the ship is in port or join as voyage crew, for what has been described as the sailing experience of a lifetime, can apply.
Unfortunately we didn't see inside the ship.

For Lee 165/365
Even if we're not perfect, we can still be beautiful. This sums up my nephew Lee perfectly xx

Song for a dancer 166/365
If you visit the Sunday Markets in Townsville's city centre you will see this lady dancing. She loves it and she never fails to be there. This is my first attempt at street photography. I only had my P&S with me.

Morning stretches 167/365
See if you can do this without falling ;o)

Foggy Days 168/365
Some days it's hard to see clearly.
